We breed on a very limited basis. Our puppies are raised in the
house with lots of care and attention. When we have
companion/family pets available, they are usually ready to go to
their new forever home around ten weeks of age. We guarantee our
puppies to be in good health at the time of sale. All
companion/family pet puppies are sold on a contract that includes a
non-breeding agreement and are expected to be spayed or neutered in
a timely manner. Companion puppies will not be available for
breeding purposes. We occasionally may have a show prospect
available.
Our puppies are precious to us and we reserve the
right to choose their forever home whether it be in a pet setting
or a conformation/performance home. We expect our dogs to be kept
as a house pets. A fully fenced-in yard is required before you
enquire if we have any puppies available. Puppies will not be sold
to any home who intends to tie up their puppy in lieu of a
fenced-in area. The puppy is never to run off-lead except in a
safely enclosed area. We highly recommend that new owners attend a
dog training class such as Puppy Kindergarten.
If you are thinking of having a Sheltie join your
family, we encourage you to do some research and ensure that a
Sheltie is the right companion for you and your household. This questionnaire will help us decide if we have a sheltie that would be the perfect companion for your family. The
Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), the
Canadian Shetland Sheepdog Association (CSSA) and many other
websites have information about shelties, including breeder and
rescue group referrals. We urge you to obtain a sheltie from either
a reputable breeder or a rescue group, and not from a pet store or
backyard breeder. For more information about our puppies, please
contact us at WintryDawn
