In July of 1985, we acquired our first Sheltie as a
companion puppy from a local breeder. Soon after, we got interested in showing
and obedience and decided to acquire a show dog and a play pal for
our first dog from Sanchar, now known as Selrach Shelties. This was
the beginning of a life long friendship which resulted in the co-ownership of
many special Shelties.
We are a small family based kennel located in Northwestern Ontario. Our Shelties are companions first and show dogs or
performance dogs second. Mother and daughter, Danielle and Ashley,
train, groom and show while hubby, Gary, pitches in by doing the crucial task of cleaning up the yard. He also looks after our mini zoo, which include Shelties, Ragdolls, Bunnies and Fish, when Danielle and Ashley are away.
Over the last 20 years, we have participated in both
conformation shows and obedience trials. For a while, we limited our showing and obedience activities due to home and work demands while Ashley
was growing up. However, we now have rekindled our love of showing in
conformation and have begun breeding with the advice and support of Selrach
Shelties.
Our dogs are raised in the family home with two Ragdoll
cats and a couple of Mini-Lop rabbits. To further socialize our
puppies, they enjoy visits at Selrach Shelties as well as at
Grandma Logan's house (Sarilyn Shelties). Our goal is to raise healthy Shelties with excellent temperaments, correct structure and a sweet look that
melts your heart.
